NANCY'S FIRST QUILT 1994

This was a wedding gift for our son John and his wife Nancy.  I started it in January, intending to give it to them for their September wedding. Instead, it was a Christmas present.  It was called Ohio Star, and consisted of about 1600 individual pieces, which I cut out by hand (didn't know what a rotary cutter was) and sewed together by hand (no sewing machine). I also quilted it by hand.  Sally Young was my mentor, and to her I am forever grateful.  As you will see from my later quilts, a lot has changed.
